Jonathan Middleton is an artist, curator, and publisher working between Toronto and Vancouver. His art practice engages language, comedy, and institutional structures, among other subjects; and has been exhibited, screened, and performed at Audain Gallery, OHCE-ECHO, VIVO, Plaza Projects, Contemporary Art Gallery, Tracey Lawrence Gallery, Vancouver International Film Festival, Inside Out Film Festival, Chicago International Film Festival, No Soul For Sale Festival (at Tate Modern), and Slakthusateljéerna (Stockholm). 

He has over 30 years’ experience in artist-run organizations, having served in curatorial and directorial roles since 1996 at Rubyarts.org, Western Front, Or Gallery, and Art Metropole. Middleton was co-founder of the publishing organization Fillip and later served in publishing roles at Information Office and C Magazine. Middleton currently co-manages the Vancouver Art Book Fair and serves as coordinator of the Artist Run Centres and Collectives of Ontario and board member of the Artist-run Centres and Collectives Conference.
